Opening reception Friday, April 27, 6-9pm
First Friday, May 4, 6-9pm

The exhibition, comprised of 50 unique works, is a visual meditation on the approximately fifty percent of species that have become critically endangered or extinct since the turn of the twentieth century. While the causes for this are complex, the impact of human activity is undeniable.
Images from the Cylcopedia (1898) were utilized in the construction of the works, and result in hand-printed lithographs on Japanese washi paper with a variety of additions (collage, drawn, ephemera, etching, found objects and lithography).
The exhibition’s title, RED LIST, refers to a comprehensive global inventory of conservation status and extinction risk for thousands of plant and animal of species and subspecies published by International Union for Conservation of Nature [IUCN]. The IUCN Red List is recognized as the most authoritative guide in the field of biological diversity.
