Restoration by UB Photography Senior Annie Morris, in Collaboration with Austin Lauer, TONIGHT at the Market Arcade

December 8, 2015  by: Natalie Fleming

Photography student Annie Morris will have an opening reception of her exhibition Restoration, completed in collaboration with Austin Lauer, at The Market Arcade, Film and Arts Centre, 617 Main Street, Buffalo, NY from 6:00-8:00PM.  The exhibition will be on view until December 12th and will feature Buffalo-specific architectural patterns screen-printed onto a variety of men and women’s clothing.  “Our city is alive and transforming and it’s evident by the way in which Buffalo is represented through commercialism and consumerism,” says Morris. “The Market Arcade became the ideal site for our installation. Showing our work in this iconic Buffalo retail space, reiterates the very reason this project began, as a way in which to celebrate Buffalo’s revival while acknowledging the importance of it’s architecturally historic past.”

Morris is a student in Professor Sylvie Bélanger‘s ART470 Photography: An Art Practice course, where each student plans and executes a solo photography exhibition in spaces throughout Western New York.
