Passages: New Work by Geoffrey Michael Krawczyk

April 2, 2010  by: Dom

April 10th – May 4th
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 10th, 7-9pm
Artspace, 1219 Main St. Buffalo, NY

Passages is a metaphysical and metaphorical landscape comprised of various bits and pieces of contemporary culture, conflict, and spirituality. This is a narrative that with no beginning and no end, touching on different aspects of religion and sacrifice, ritual and taboo, politics and war.

The works ask the viewer to find their own commonality and connection between them. The sprawling allegory of death and life encompasses many different forms, images, perspectives, horrors, and fictions, tying eschatology to representation in a stew of possibility and innuendo. I want to create a solemn and contemplative environment allowing for individual interpretation and reflection.
