Making a PowerPoint Slideshow from Scanned Images—Keynote
Because we are using Macs, the fastest way to make an MS PowerPoint slideshow of scanned images is to organize the images for presentation in the Finder (using file names) and then using Keynote (the Mac equivalent of PowerPoint).
1. Open Keynote.
2. Choose the “Black” theme. Set the “Slide Size” to “1024 x 768”. Click “Choose” button.
3. Select “View”>>“Light Table”.
4. Drag and drop the images from Finder into the table.
5. Select all (command + A) then select “Masters”>>“Blank”. (This eliminates any automatic text boxes. You may also, at this point, wish to delete the first, blank slide.)
6. Select “View”>>“Navigator”.
7. Click the image on the slide so as to select it for editing. Select “Inspector” on the upper right hand side of the toolbar and the “Inspector” palette will open on the right. Select the “Metrics” tab (the ruler image) in this palette.
If the image runs long on the width, set that to “1024”
If it runs long on the height, set that to “768”
Runs long on width.
Runs long on length.
Once resized, center the image. To do this, merely drag it until the yellow vertical and horizontal crosshairs appear. These crosshairs mean the image has been centered.
9. Select “Share”>>“Export”>>“PPT”. Save to desktop. It should now be a PowerPoint file ready for presentation.
