Our graphic design program is focused on the visualization of our culture. The Graphic Design concentration at UB offers design theory and history and provides the technical knowledge and training needed for professional graphic design work. Studio courses include the study of typography, systems and our visual culture.

Experiential Learning

  • PLATFORM is a socially engaged design studio in the graphic design concentration area in the Department of Art. It offers students hands-on learning opportunities to work on real-world design problems for both local and regional non-profits advocating for under-served communities. Students learn the value of an integrative, interdisciplinary design practice that encourages teamwork and collaboration and empowers them to be active members of their community.
