Power Animal: The Relief Prints of Brian Hensen at WNYBAC

November 1, 2017  by: Jeff Sherven

Power Animal is an exhibition of relief prints by UB Department of Art Alum Brian Hensen.

Its Opening Reception is Friday, November 10, 2017, 6-9pm at the Western New York Book Arts Center 468 Washington St. in Buffalo. The event is free and open to the public.

Hensen will lead an artist’s talk and workshop on Saturday, December 2nd from 12-2pm. For more information or to register for the class, visit wnybookarts.org/exhibitions.

Hensen’s work creates creatures uncomfortable in their own skin and seeking guidance for conflicts constructed within their own heads. The show features intricate woodcut prints that attempt to examine social anxieties stemming from behavior, belonging, fads, and food.
