March 10, 2017  by: Natalie Fleming

Workshop with Shantell Martin
Monday March 13
10:00 am – 12:00pm
Project Space: Room 155 CFA

This is not a drawing workshop, but a workshop that allows you draw. Let go of all your preconceptions about what drawing is and show off your artistic, collaborative side! Led by Shantell Martin, this workshop will include a range of exercises that will encourage you to draw spontaneously, to trust your instincts and have fun in the process.

All are welcome but space is limited. Please sign-up via email joannder@buffalo.edu

Shantell Martin is an internationally celebrated visual artist; a performer and a storyteller. Martin’s practice is rooted in the notion that anyone can be an artist and that our shared environment is potentially the most productive space to create that culture. Martin’s recent art commissions include an interior installation at the Viacom headquarters in Times Square, New York and a custom installation for the Brown Institute for Media Innovation located in the Pulitzer Hall, Columbia University.

UB’s Creative Arts Initiative is pleased to partner with the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in bringing Martin to Buffalo for her first solo museum exhibition from March 11 – May 25th and the creation of a new mural in the East Side neighborhood.
