Sophomores and Juniors: Apply by March 4th for the 2016 Rumsey Competition Exhibition

February 9, 2016  by: Natalie Fleming

Apply for the 2015-2016 Rumsey Scholarship Competition

Looking for an opportunity to develop your scholarship and artistic practice this summer? UB Department of Art’s Rumsey Scholarship provides funding for summer travel to one or two talented art and art history sophomores and juniors in this annual competition.

Students write a travel proposal that is exhibited along with select artwork or art historical scholarship in an exhibition on view in the UB Art Galleries second floor space. Department of Art faculty will select a winner based on the quality of both the exhibited work and proposal. Scholarship recipients will feature the work resulting from their summer study in the 2016-2017 follow-up Rumsey exhibition.

This is an exciting opportunity for undergraduate students to earn travel money while showcasing their work in up to two exhibitions prior to graduation.
