UB Call for Work for Local High School Artists – From Now On: Western New York High School Art Exhibition

WESTERN NEW YORK REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL ART EXHIBITION
The Department of Art seeks teachers and students to exhibit new works and engage in an ongoing dialogue about the importance of the arts in education.
We invite all area high schools to submit one to four pieces of their best student work. A maximum of four works from each school is guaranteed acceptance into the exhibition. Last year’s exhibition included 7 award winners, 91 submissions and 26 area high schools.
EVENT DATES AND TIMES
February 11 – March 11, 2016
Exhibition Reception Thursday, February 25 5-7pm
DROP OFF WORK
Department of Art Lower Gallery B45 Center For the Arts
January 25 – 29, 3-6pm
January 30, 12-4pm
Or by appointment
Prizes will be awarded on February 25 at 6pm for the following categories:
Best in Show $400
Second Prize $300
Third Prize $200
Honorable Mention $100
All fine arts, media arts, graphic arts, 2D, 3D, and digital media will be accepted.
Unique methods of display are welcome. Please provide written instructions, photos, or diagrams for display attached to the piece.
All 2D work must have the top clearly marked. The frame or mount for a piece should have stable hardware for hanging or margins so the work may be displayed with exhibition pins or magnets.
3D work may be free standing on the floor or displayed on pedestals provided by the department.
Digital submissions should be in MP4 format on a DVD or flash drive. We will make every effort to accommodate technology within reasonable limits.
