A collaborative presentation by Squeaky Wheel, the Department of Media Study, Visual Studies, the Emerging Practices Graduate Forum, and the University at Buffalo Art Gallery.
Join us for a PechaKucha-style evening, as ten artists and media practitioners working in the Western NY region get seven minutes to show & tell us about their work. Featuring Media Study grads Sean Feiner, Liz Lessner, Sergio Nieto, Lydia Cordero-Campis, Chloe Higginbotham; Visual Studies grads Julie Rozman, Liz Bayan, Su Yang, Nekita Thomas; and UB Art Gallery visiting artist Kamau Patton. Presentations will be followed by an open Q&A session with all artists.
This event is organized in part by Emerging Practices (EP) at the University at Buffalo, a joint research, theory, and critical initiative bridging graduate students in the departments of Media Study and Visual Studies to explore the technical, tactical, cultural and communicative potential of emerging technologies in such domains as interactive multi-media, robotics, simulation systems, computational media, biotechnology, and image synthesis.
