Professor Stephanie Rothenberg will participate in an exciting symposium and exhibition focused on mapping as a creative instrument of recognition, criticism and action on the urban territory with a focus on Rio de Janeiro. Sponsored by the Pró-Design program of the City of Rio de Janeiro. For the exhibition component she will be showing documentation from 3 new projects: “The Secret of Eternal Levitation,” an interactive game about neoliberal dream paradises and global resource management; “Coming Soon!” an augmented reality mobile tour in the South Bronx focused on an area undergoing rapid redevelopment; and “Reversal of Fortune: Garden of Virtual Kinship.” Also presenting at the event is artist and radical cartographer Lize Mogel.
