This week, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) launched their new collections website, giving away nearly 20,000 high-quality images of art from their collection, now available in the public domain to download and use as you see fit. Just look for the “download” option beneath the photo of the artwork. If you want to save your favorite records all in one place, choose “My Gallery” beneath any image. You’ll be prompted for a login username and password. Once you’ve registered, you’ll be able to save your favorites on this site for future reference.
Keep in mind, if you are having difficulty acquiring a digital image of any artwork for educational purposes, you can request it by filling out a Digital Image Order Form located in the Art Resource Center (B41) or by contacting the Visual Studies Resources Curator, Natalie Fleming, directly.
