Artist Lecture: HOCK E AYE VI Edgar Heap of Birds, Feb 10

February 4, 2010  by: Dom

HOCK E AYE VI Edgar Heap of Birds, the first artist-in-residence to be sponsored by the Debbie and Harvey Breverman Fund. During his stay he will give a lecture on his work, conduct studio visits with graduate students, and spend 4 days in the production of a suite of monotypes to be exhibited at CEPA Gallery (downtown Buffalo) in April 2010.

Edgar Heap of Birds is known internationally for his interventions in public spaces that bear witness to the invisible histories that are indelibly linked to a place, particularly histories concerning indigenous peoples. His work frequently draws upon language in form and content, history, and memory and engages audiences in a conversation about forgotten or subversive relationships.
