The Department of Art is thrilled to announce that Jonathan Katz, internationally distinguished scholar, curator and professor, will be joining the faculty this coming year. His writing has been published by Yale University Press, University of Chicago Press, Duke University Press, Routledge, Thames and Hudson, with two upcoming books to be published by University of Chicago Press, The Silent Camp: Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg and the Cold War and Art, Eros and the Sixties. Among numerous important exhibitions he has curated is the upcoming groundbreaking Hide/Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture at the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery. He will take on the leadership role in developing the Visual Studies Ph.D. program.
